The invention of the tank, the 1st appearance of a Superhero, and the invention of the coffee maker Can you put all these events correctly on the timeline? With Timeline, learn the answer to this question and thousands more. Each card has a different historical event and on the opposite side its associated date. To begin, one card is randomly selected from the draw pile. This is placed in the middle of the table, date-side up and is the starting point of a chronological line which will slowly be built by players. The first player then chooses one of their cards and places it before or after that of the initial card. The player's card is then turned date-side up. If the player was right, it remains on the table. Otherwise, the card is discarded and a new one must be drawn to replace it. The more cards which are correctly played, the harder it is to correctly place new ones! The first player to get rid of their cards wins.

Timeline: Diversity Game Review

If, like me, you were mildly dissuaded by the name of this game "Diversity," I strongly recommend that you overcome your prejudice.

This is *Not a game about historically significant events which are related to diversity. You may have thought that, because I did, and there were no good pictures or product descriptions.

Diveristy *Is a "hodge podge" or "variety" deck, and is probably the best starter game out of the lot of Timeline options. Cards include the likes of "invention of the microwave," "discovery of the wreck of the Titanic," "invention of canning," "1st appearance of a superhero," "invention of the ink pen," 1st exploration of Mars," etc.

For those unfamiliar with the Timeline series, it is based on cards which you arrange in a chronological timeline with friends/family. The game mechanics are super easy, and it's highly addictive. The cards are small, about half the size of a deck of standard cards, and each game comes with 100 of them. Additional currently available games include "Timeline: Discoveries," Timeline: Historical Events," and "Timeline Card Game." They are interchangeable, and it appears "Monuments," "Arts and Literature," "Music," and "Sports" are soon to follow.

Every individual who I have played this game with has loved it. When I picked this game up for a gift, I was told by the cashiers that "I heard that's the best new game of 2012" and "I love that game." If you enjoy games, you will not be disappointed.

*A word to individuals who view science as being inconsistent with their beliefs. While you may find a few of the cards objectionable, I still find these to be of educational benefit - in settings such as school or homeschooling. This game invites conversation, from the one I had with friends "that's the date for the first soccer game, I wonder how they decided that. I thought they might have used the ancient Native Americans' game" to "Honey, you might hear from other people that the earth materialized on x date, but we believe it was created on y date, and here is why."

Super Dungeon Explore Review

I played two sessions of SDE last night and had a ton of fun. The game play is fast and lots of fun, but still allows for a great deal of planning and teamwork.

- The models are well designed and fairly easy to put together, although they do require glue! I've seen some people complain that the models are not simple snap together kits or single piece miniatures. This is totally true, so please don't expect to play right out of the box. Assembly will probably take 1-3 hours.

- The rest of the components are colorful and well made, although the cards are slightly thinner than I would have liked. Once put in sleeves (which I would recommend to avoid wear)this ceases to be a problem.

- The rules are intuitive and easy to learn, but... there are a lot of them. We were still discovering new rules at the end of our second game. The rules all seem to work well, in in most cases are intuitive and a lot of fun, but expect to be half way through a game and realize that you've been using magic, or potions or status effects wrong. The lack of an index makes it difficult to find answers. On the other hand, we made it through two enjoyable games without these problems slowing is down, and I expect that now that we have a better understanding of the game we'll enjoy it a lot more.

I hate to give the one-star review to Traffic Jam, but the Deluxe version is really awful. (I have owned both the Deluxe version and the original version.) Apparently, Amazon also hates me to give a one-star review, too, as this is the third time I have tried to publish this 1-star review.

The board and playing pieces are exactly the same size and shape as the original version of Traffic Jam, but in the Deluxe version, the playing pieces have a metallic paint on them that chips off.

Also, in the original version, there is a little drawer beneath the playing board used for storing the cards, unlike the Deluxe version which has no storage drawer.

The original version comes with a carrying case, and the cards, board, and playing pieces all fit neatly into it. The deluxe version is not similarly portable, and the game board, cards, and playing pieces are stored in the flocked plastic molded insert inside the box.

So, while the game itself is still fun, challenging, and totally addictive, this "Deluxe" version is a real stinker when compared to the original!

"These guys don't play around. My order was shipped and delivered within 3 days. The flights are great practice flights if you use standard size wides. I usually go though 3 to 4 sets each week of more expensive flights, so when I saw that I could get 20 sets for around 60 cents each, I was sold. The only reason that they didn't receive 5 stars is that I was shorted 1 flight, but that is understandable. However if I'm shorted on my next order then I may not understand so well".

After sending a courtesy email to Bumpernets to explain that I was shorted 1 flight, they did something that I did not expect. They responded within hours and told me that my shorted flight was being sent and an extra set was included. To go through the trouble of mailing me these items made me feel like I was in the 1950's when customer service and quality was just the way good business was practiced. I would recommend visiting their storefront and if they have the item you're looking for please reward them with your business for great customer service. They deserve it.

Classic Wood Folding Chess Set Review

I bought this chess set to keep at our summer house for our use and those that stay here. We have enjoyed the set as my son and I play often. The board is not as flimsy as a cardboard one and is more stable as you have to turn it over to set the board. On the inside there are elastic bands to put the pieces in when storing, but they are a bit troublesome, so we simply put them back in the plasitc bags they arrived in. The pieces are small, but of appropriate size for the board and also for adult hands to play with them. Overall, this is an okay product. I would buy it again.
