This is something that is important for protecting one's investment. A RV heater is fairly expensive, but the hard part is getting to it. Plus, it also requires a lot of connections to work right, the air ducts, the propane system, the 12VDC system for the electronic thermostat and fans, which is a lot of labor.

Attaching these onto the vents is a no brainer -- use the including pushing tool to attach the spring onto the existing vent protector. Only reservation of mine is that if that one small spring breaks, off goes the screen. I might see about caulking the edge with Dicor or something heat-resistant as additional insurance, but so far, it has held up without any problems.

Here in Texas, hornets and mud dauber wasps get almost anywhere that isn't screened, so making sure they stay out of your RV ducting is important.

Sturdy Birdy Game Review

I ordered this game to use at work, since I am a pediatric physical therapist. I was very disappointed! The quality of the game is greatly lacking. Upon taking the game out of the box the first time, several of the stands for the cards were broken. It only took one attempt to set up the cards and several more stands broke. Also, the bags of feed, which are bean bags, are quite small and not appropriate for the age range to balance successfully. Additionally, the die with pictures on it was already beginning to peel the stickers off. I have come to expect great things from Fat Brain Toys and this was a huge turn off. Hopefully they will make some changes before they attempt to market this game again!

In The Cave, a board game from K2 author Adam Kaluza, players take on the role of a speleologist team tasked with exploring a newly discovered cave. Players start from a base and explore a cave, tunnel after tunnel, effectively building the board (the cave). They have to overcome steep descents, underground lakes, and tight squeezes. They will be given a chance to admire the wonders of the underground, like halls full of stalactites. To make it all possible they must take the right supplies with them, like ropes, oxygen and batteries.

Each turn players have five action points to use for moving, discovering new cave tiles, exploring them, and packing their backpacks when they go back to the starting base. They need ropes for descents, oxygen to explore underwater parts, and a camera to photograph underground wonders. Planning what to take with them is one of the most important things in the game. Each turn that their pawn is not in the starting base, players must use (i.e., throw out) one basic supply from their backpack; these costs, along with the expenditure of other supplies during exploration, forces them to return to the starting base a few times during the game. To keep them from having to carry everything, though, players can raise a camp somewhere in the tunnels where they can store some of the equipment.

The cave differs every game, so players have to be prepared for everything or they will lose time. Players earn points for exploring different tiles: underwater, wondrous, descents, and so on -- but to win they'll need to acquire bonus prizes for exploring the most tiles of each type. This make decision-making during trips very difficult.

When the cave is fully explored, the player who made the biggest effort in the most spectacular way wins the game.

The Cave Review

I am very pleased with this game, it took some time to get to me from Europe but was well worth the wait. My wife and I play this game regularly and have even invited other couples over to play with us. This is in my top 5 favorite games now. Takes about an hour to play with two people a bit longer with 4. This game blows away more traditional American board games such as monopoly and risk. Try it, you wont be disappointed.

Original Pocket Farkel Dice Game - Miniature Set - Colors May Vary Review

The name of the game is Farkel. You could easily confuse it with Farkle, which wouldn't be a major mistake. In fact, you could just as easily confuse it with 10000, 5000, Buzzball, Greed, Hot Dice, Oh Crap, Squelch, Wimp Out, Zilch, or Zonk. And you'd be perfectly entitled, insofar as they are each and all names for basically the same game - a dice game, played with six dice, that is most definitely not Yahtzee.

However, the subject of this review is not Farkel, but Pocket Farkel, as a matter of fact. (One of my very favorite game names, that I find myself obliged to repeat in rapid succession many times each time I open the game box).

Speaking of boxes, that's perhaps the key to what makes Pocket Farkel so fun-worthy. It's a handy little box, with the dice fitting snugly into their little foam niches, and the scoring rules (which are difficult to remember for the novice Farkeler) so clearly printed on the inside of the lid. And, as you would assume, it fits tidily into your pocket. Yes, all you really need are six dice. But the package here is the product. Its elegance, its accessibility all invite play, making the game into something unique.

The rules of Pocket Farkel are slightly different than those of your regular Farkle - simpler, more scoring possibilities, more engaging. On your turn, you first roll all six dice. You then set aside any of dice that score (see the ever-so handy scoring combination chart on the box lid), and then you roll the rest of the dice. But you have to have to score to go on. If you don't score, you Farkel. And to Farkel is to lose all those conceptually hard-earned points you thought you were getting for that round. As in, "O, Farkel!" Which is another way of saying, no matter how disappointed you get, you just can't take it seriously.

And so the game goes, people scoring. People Farkeling. There's laughing. There's muttering. And then there's more laughing. For a family with kids who can keep score - and not care too much about it - it's something you might want to take with you everywhere.

The Pocket Farkel people make an astounding variety of Farkel sets - there's Pirate Farkel and Froggy Farkel and Moose Farkel, Bear Farkel and Equine Farkel and Gator Farkel.
