Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective Game Review

From discussions on a couple of gaming sites, this appears to be a reissue of a pretty cool game from the 1980's. I have a version in that came in a 3-ring leatherette binder. If this is the same game (binder or no) sales might improve if they described the game mechanics and components a bit. Because it's a lot of fun.

- You get a casebook with 10 cases, told in short-story form. (Just a couple pages long.)

- You get a "London Directory" which is sort of like a phone book. You can look up hundreds of people, shops or offices and get their address.

- You get a map of London to see just where everything is.

- You get a Newspaper Archive (several 'replica' pages from various dates) which you can read for news and clues. (Note that the newspapers are crammed full of various little articles, clipping, ads...etc. Only a few may pertain to the case you are working on.)

- You get a clue book. This provides information you gather by visiting various places on the map and interviewing people or observing the scene. (So if you were to visit, say, the tobacconist, for example, you might learn something of the brand of cigarettes you find at the scene of the crime.)

This is a very open, free-form kind of game. There aren't really many rules; in fact I can't remember if there are any rules. It can be played solitaire or with a group of several friends. Number of players isn't really an issue; 2 or 3 on up to 7 or 8 or maybe even more.
