In this easy-to-play murder mystery card game 2-5 players will play as their favorite characters from the show as they collect and use investigation cards to narrow down the suspects until they find the guilty party! Castle: The Detective Card Game offers two ways to play. You can play a single game which simulates a single episode from the show or you can play a whole season. If you play a single episode whoever finds the killer wins the game. If you play a season match you play multiple games until one of the players has won two games. - Play as one of six major characters from the show including Richard Castle or Detective Kate Beckett! Each character comes with a unique ability to use during the game. Castle The Detective Card Game Review

To be honest, I am very skeptical of popular drama tie-in games, but this is a very good game in its own right.

The base mechanic is that a series of suspect cards are dealt out and poker chips with "guilty" or "not guilty" are written on the hidden side are distributed randomly on the cards.

Each of the supct cards has a series of pre-conditions that must be met before the suspect can be confronted, I.e., turn over the poker chip to see if the suspect is guilty.

To get at the preconditions, each player s dealt three investigation cards from a deck of eighty-one, nine conditions, e.g., investigate crime scene, poker game consult, autopsy, etc., and nine copies of each card. On their turns, players can turn in cards, draw cards, etc. to get conditions to confront the appropriate suspect.

The players take on the roles of one of six characters, Castle, the Captain, etc., and each of these has a special ability that can be used once per game.

Very nice! The mechanics are easy enough for a ten year old to learn in about ten minutes, but there is enough randomness that anyone can win.

Also, the base game has enough random variation that you'll like never see two games the same in a normal human life span, but there's more! The games contains several variation rules.
