In terms of flavor this card puzzles me. What it is and what it does and how it does it doesn't make much sense to me. Here we have a dragon with a spin off of the traditional "firebreathing" technique which is something like: pay one red mana to increase this creatures attack by 1. The ability can be used as many times as there is red mana available. That part is perfect in flavor, but the problem with this card is that its not a matter of red mana but that of life. Pretty much this card can one-shot somebody if this attacks unblocked and any person playing this card should be well aware of that. It seems like a degenerate use of a card but at the same time it looks like that developers made it that way intentionsly. My problem with flavor is that a dragon shouldn't be able to do something like this. This effect is a black effect of sacrificing life to gain advatage married with red's firebreathing, it just seems a little tastless that a dragon has a built in .5channelfirball combo.
I stress though that this is far from broken, draining your life to "go for the kill" can very much be a gamble if an opponent has mana open and usually gameover if they have a way to destroy your creature at instant speed, a skilled player will try to bait you so play smart.
A great card, a scary card. THis is one that has educational value as its teached me a few things about timing and life vs resourse value. Buy this card and teach people how to play.
