Werewolf / Mafia is a great game -- see its Wikipedia page. It's flawed -- you need more than 6 players, and the first few turns usually have no information. By that point, several of the players have already been removed from the game.Inquisition uses investigators that won't be killed. The investigators are villagers or werewolves. The villagers win if the werewolves in the town are eliminated. The werewolves win if they outnumber the villagers.
They investigate 12 people / 12 huts that contain villagers, werewolves, seers, hunters, mayors, witches, masons, bodyguards, and sorcerers. There are 50 voting chips, and a grand inquisitor meeple, which will be owned by several players during the game. The 12 huts and 12 people are placed in 3x4 grids, side by side.
Each DAY, starting with the grand inquisitor, players either pick a hut (Seer, Hunter, ...) and take the action of that hut, OR they take 2 voting chips. Discussion happens freely. Then they play votes for who will be lynched on the villagers. The villager with the most votes is eliminated, along with their hut.
Each NIGHT, the grand inquisitor selects a column of people then everyone closes their eyes. The cards are then passed from person to person. Only the werewolves may look at the cards or reorder them. When the Grand Inquisitor gets the cards back, they are placed back in their column, and the last card is flipped over -- that's the victim of the werewolves for the night.
This set-up gives the players a lot more information to work with, and it keeps the players around. It's suitable for 3-12 players.
Highly recommended.
