Lord of The Rings LCG: Assault on Osgiliath Adventure Pack Review
I'm assuming that you already know how to play the game and you are looking for expansion. The mechanic is simple in this one, there is only one quest card and a ton of locations. Basically you fight to keep control over the locations and these never leave play (although the they don't contribute threat once you control them). The goal is to control all of the areas in play to win. This leads to a somewhat cool but disappointing scenario.
If you get lucky you can win the scenario pretty fast, or it can turn into a nightmare and loose after a long session. Since every location has its own conditions to be capture and requirements to keep in control; some turn out to spire out of control a give a haradrim fest in front of you, others allow you to clear a faster rout and end the scenario extremely fast.
PROS: Enemies are nice and though; the idea behind this is fun and engaging.
CONS: Way too random for my taste.
Hero: Faramir is really good, he gains strengths equal to the number of enemies in the staging area, so he can be beast at some point.
Deck Cards: There are some useful cards, but nothing that makes this expansion a must have. One honorable mention is a card that gives its wearer the Outland skill.
Advice: There are better expansions out there.
