ThinkFun Snack Attack Review

Since getting Snack Attack, my kids have been seeking out this game everyday for the last week to play. My 6 and 2 year old and I can "play" together. We helped the little one a bit with the "rules", but she is excited by the food graphics and eager to get a "match". They love having a turn at being "chef" as cooking/good healthy food are a big thing in our household. The wheel is well designed and I love the fact that the token dispenser is also the storage unit when not in game mode. Helps contain the "scattered and lost" pieces of games that make them non-functional after a while. Loads of fun scrambling to see who can call out the snacks and stack fast. (Silliness at its best!)

My only suggestion for improvement would be about some of the snacks depicted. Cupcakes, Ice Cream sundaes and Juice boxes are rarely eaten for snacks in our household and more likely seen as special treats. My 6 year old asked for these as snacks the day we got the game and I needed to explain that these weren't good for snacks because of XYZ...
With the concern of childhood obesity and sugar consumption being a prime suspect, I would enjoy seeing other snacks replace these (even though they do catch the eye/imagination). Maybe muffin, instead of frosted cupcake? Maybe Yogurt parfait with fruit/granola instead of ice cream sundae? Grapes or other fruits instead of Grape Juice?

Another idea would for Thinkfun to sell supplement edition kits to the basic game to keep kids interested over time. (ie., Dinner Attack with Plates/Tokens showing dinner items) Breakfast Attack with eggs/toast/etc.)

Our family is a big fan of ThinkFun and we are excited to have another great educational game in the house that not only entertains, but builds their learning skills as well.
